Heart Throb

The summer just wiped us out.  Especially Zachy.
(Notice the hand.  We have sonogram pictures of him with his hand in the same spot!)

In early August Zachary took a business trip... and boy, oh boy, was it important business!  Zachy made his debut as a ring bearer in his godfather John's wedding!  Unfortunately our whole family couldn't make the long trip to Cincinnati to share in John's special day, but Zachary, Mark, and Mommy were lucky enough to go!

This was Zachary's first plane trip not involved with surgery, and he was sure excited to fly!

Our flight was four long hours delayed, but Zachary and Mark were good sports and patiently waited to board.

Zachy got a rush during takeoff and squealed with delight, "Mommy, wow, we're going fast!  I feel it in my butt!"  And after he ordered his in-flight soda pop and cardboard cookies, he crashed...  (Baby brother Mark was a good little traveler, too!)

The boys got a kick out of sharing a hotel room with Papa and Grandma, who were much braver to drive the entire distance to Ohio.  And after the excitement of travel and a good nap, it was time to get down to business.
Zachy poses at the rehearsal with his sidekick Caroline and the beautiful bride, Holly.

At the rehearsal John made good on his promise to deliver candy if Zachy would help him and Holly get hitched!  (Someday they will have children of their own and I will return the favor of loading their kids up with sugar the evening before an important event.)

Omigosh...  what a little heart throb!
So proud of my handsome little guy!

What an adorable flower girl!  But too bad she's not that coordinated, thought Zachary.  She keeps dropping those flowers all over the floor.  Well, he reasoned, maybe I'll help her out and pick them up!

But, alas, this ring-bearing gig is hard work!  And it's right during nap time!  Zachy didn't even make it to the vows.
Luckily John's best man came to his rescue and scooped him up for the recessional.

Zachy wasn't too happy we woke him up for pictures.
So he sat down to sulk...

But I think John promised him candy again...

...and at the reception, Zachy was double trouble!

When Zachy was diagnosed before birth, I never even dreamed of the day I would watch him don a little tux and usher a happy couple down the aisle.  It was a momentous occasion to say the least, and our little extended weekend together created sweet memories to last us a long, long time.

I'm afraid tomorrow will be another one of those "special days" when my eyes tear up and my heart bursts wide open...  Zachary is starting school!  Check back soon on http://www.sixlittleblessings.com for first day pictures of our big boy and updates on how we barely survived our hot, stressful summer!
