Playing with the Angels
It has taken me many days to write this post. Just as we were preparing to celebrate Steve's 40th birthday, we got the news. Zachary's U of M heart sister Lindsay had unexpectedly passed away, just days after her third birthday. Some of you may be familiar with Lindsay's story . We met her parents at the Ronald McDonald House in Ann Arbor before Zachary was born, and quickly became good friends with the family. Zachy and Lindsay were born with similar heart defects, but Lindsay spent most of her first year in the hospital until she received a heart transplant around her first birthday. Princess Lindsay, as she became known throughout the "heart" community, had many close calls, but always pulled through and defied the odds. Then suddenly last Friday, God called her home.
