God So Loved the World...

Our big boys seem to have a strong and often insightful understanding of their Catholic faith. We are trying to teach Zachary, too, that God loves him beyond measure and how important it is to develop a loving relationship with his Creator. Sunday mass usually starts out calm enough, with Zachary cuddling in my arms or speeding his Matchbox tractors around the pews. Sometimes he calls the priest "God", sometimes he points to the crucifix above the altar and says "Jesus", and sometimes he asks me to hold him high so he can "see!" what's going on up there (we sit towards the back because, well, we have five antsy boys...) But Zachary ALWAYS starts whining, or rather, demanding "Doughnut! DOUGHNUT!" as we near the end of the liturgy. Zachy and his brothers alike learned at an early age that our church family loves to gather in the cafeteria after mass and visit over coffee and doughnuts. Summer Is...

Summer is... a road trip to see family and to celebrate a couple's new life together.   At the end of May, we traveled to Minneapolis to celebrate the wedding of Steve's youngest sister.  Nancy had a beautiful ceremony at the Basilica of Saint Mary.  I played dress-up with the boys and they had a blast with their grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  We visited the Mall of America and finally  purchased living room furniture on the way home from Nebraska Furniture Mart in Kansas City.  Now, that's an exciting road trip! Steve and his siblings (all but the oldest) What an amazing church! Those boys clean up pretty nice... Aaahhh.... finally, the reception!  Sammy unwrapped and ate all the Hershey's kisses on our table. Joseph stays busy with the reception favors. David gives me a dance lesson. Zachy flirts with Aunt Heidi. OK, now he's had enough!!! Alex busts a move. Steve gives break-dancing lessons. In front of one of the Lego exhibits...
