Happy Birthday, David!
Where has the time gone? Wasn't it just yesterday we held our little newborn Davy in our arms? We blinked our eyes, and suddenly that sweet baby is EIGHT YEARS OLD and nearly eighty pounds (the biggest of our five)!
I should have known from the exciting pregnancy and labor that happened so fast I had no time for an epidural (ouch)... there is no slowing our Davy down! One thing hasn't changed these past eight years--David is full of life and energy and always on the go! He has an incredible imagination and a love for all things science. Most importantly, he loves God and His beautiful creation. He often ponders what happens in this world in terms of how they relate to the next.
Here's a glance back on eight wonderful years with our second Little Blessing:
Eight years ago, we were sure we were having a girl... my pregnancy had been so different from Alex's. I was sick and throwing up until 27 weeks, and my tummy took on a whole different shape. I wasn't the only one convinced he was a girl... when my parents came to the hospital to await his arrival, they brought with them a pink balloon! My mom, a phenomenal seamstress, had painstakingly crafted a delicate and lacy baby girl's baptismal gown (not to mention several pink dresses!) Now eight years and four grandsons later, they are still waiting to be worn.

David and Alex, together and inseparable from the very beginning.
He is always the sweetest when he's sleeping...
He had great rhythm, even at a young age.
He is always sneaking sweets--just like Mom.
Have I mentioned creativity?
He loves to "dig" for dinosaurs...
It's that tell-tale "David" face... and oh, what a blondie!
Eight years, going on eighteen...
Happy Birthday, Davy!
We love you!
We love you!
