This Little Piggy... Has the Swine Flu?
Two weeks. Five little piggies. Swine flu?

I'm awfully suspicious. For two weeks now, one by one, my five little piggies have been ill. Alex was the first. He brought a fever and cough home from school, and passed it on. David was out of school for three days this week, returned on Thursday, but feels crummy again today. Zachary was the last to succumb to the virus. He spiked a 102 degree fever Wednesday night, and yesterday he saw the doctor. No pneumonia, but we're watching him closely. He woke constantly last night.
The H1N1 virus is running rampant through the schools, and the vaccine hasn't hit the shelves fast enough here in Wichita. Those who get it are awfully miserable for about a week, but most of them make a full recovery. It hits especially hard for those with chronic medical conditions, like Zachary. He's a strong little guy, though, and so far he's pulling through. Please remember to keep him and all the little sickies in your prayers. School children are especially devastated by the pandemic; the make-up homework just keeps piling up!
So as long as I keep them on Tylenol and Motrin, forget the laundry, and spend lots of time holding, cuddling, and kissing, we'll get through this! And unless she changes her mind after reading this, Aunt Heidi will be here tomorrow to lift the boys' spirits! She thinks she's on a break from medical school, but she's about to put that knowledge to good use!
Our love and prayers go out to all of you who are in this boat with us.

I hope they all get well soon! My pediatrician says the tell-tale sign of "it" being the H1N1 is the sudden onset of high fever. So far... we've managed to avoid it. It scares me though... especially being pregnant! I may become home-bound for the last 3 months of pregnancy just to avoid getting it :) Keep us posted on the little piggies!
